Let me introduce myself
Let me tell you a little about me...
Hi, I’m Brianna — it rhymes with Indiana.
I’m someone who has already lived a few different lives. I grew up trying to be the “Christian good girl” I was raised to be, which, for a long time, naturally aligned me with the Republican world I inherited. Life, however, had other plans.
I’ve been a young widow. I’ve been a remarried woman learning how to build a new normal without erasing the old one. And in my everyday life, I’m a speech‑language pathologist working in early intervention, helping families find their footing through language delays, autism, feeding disorders, and everything in between. The families I work with have taught me more about resilience and truth than any political slogan ever could.
I’m also a progressive advocate in Indiana — a state that has lived under one‑party Republican rule for more than two decades. It took losing my late husband to the COVID‑19 pandemic at just 37 years old to fully wake up to what was happening around me. Grief stripped away the noise and left me face‑to‑face with the systems, decisions, and narratives that shape people’s lives.
I share my story to inspire, to challenge, and to encourage people to do better — including myself. My hope is that by being honest about my own transformation, I can help others start questioning what they’ve been taught, what they believe, and what’s possible. If that leads to a few more recovered Republicans along the way, even better.
Thank you for reading.
